Pilgrims and Art in the Colonies

We all know the story of Thanksgiving, and the Pilgrims and Indians gathering for their festive meal. But what about art??

Art was not high on the list of priorities for the Pilgrims. The picture shown here is definitely not an example of an early Pilgrim activity.

It makes sense ... you've arrived in a new land, need to build a house, and find food to eat. So who has time to make art?
