A hard rain brings nature’s beauty on glass

I was working at my desk when I noticed the sky open up with a really short-but-intense rain storm. When it was over, there were a few leaves plastered against the glass of the skylight in my office (below left). The dark storm clouds had passed, so there was enough light coming through the leaf that it created a microscope-like view of the surface, with the veins and water drops caught between the leaf and the glass. One doesn’t usually think of rain storms as bringing art, but it certainly did in this case …
